Places to Eat

There are plenty of great places to eat in and around Sunset Beach. Here are a few of our favorites:

In Sea Trail Resort

Houses Place Restaurant

Walkable from the Villa, Houses Place is located inside the Village Activity Center. Great for lunch or take out. Good wings, sandwiches, salads and wraps. We love sitting outside on the deck near the pool area. Open Thurs-Sun.

Coffee / Breakfast

Beach House Cafe (Sunset Beach)

This is one of our favorite places for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee, omelets, salads and sandwiches. Mon-Sat 10am-3pm.

Bagel Dock Cafe (Calabash)

Fresh Bagels, Breakfast Sandwiches, Pastries. Eat in or take out. Daily 6am-3pm.

Drift - (Ocean Isle)

Small coffee shop with limited indoor seating but lots of outdoor seating if you catch a nice day. Great coffee, full breakfast. Avocado Toast (several choices) is fantastic and a family favorite!

Mavericks - (Sunset Beach) Located near the ICW (just about a mile from the villa) near the base of the bridge to the beach. Great coffee, lattes and smoothies. Limited breakfast (muffins, bagels, egg sandwiches). Check hrs. Currently Open Fri-Sun 7am-12pm.

Seafood

The Oyster Rock (Calabash)

This is the best restaurant in the area! We love the Oyster Rock. Great atmosphere with an outdoor bar on the water for pre-dinner drinks. Can get a little pricey but its our go-to for a really nice dinner. Reservations recommended, but you can walk in too.

The Boat Landing Restaurant (Sunset Beach)

Next to the Sunset Beach Park. Great place really close. Seafood, Salads, Wraps, Burgers. Great to have dinner and then stroll in the park or across the street to Mootown for ice cream.

Jink’s Creek (Ocean Isle)

Fantastic sunset views in their rooftop bar overlooking Jink’s Creek and ICW. Good seafood, salads and delicious desserts. Reservations recommended.

Ella’s (Calabash)

Casual, local favorite since 1950. Typical Calabash style seafood, with a big menu and just about any kind of seafood you want. Busy place but it’s big with lots of tables.

Fibber McGee’s Irish Pub (Sunset Beach) about a mile from the Villa. Great bike ride to grab lunch. Indoor / Outdoor seating.

Las Palmeras Mexican (Sunset Beach)

La Cucina Italian (Sunset Beach)

Joey O’s Pizza - (Sunset Beach)

Traditional casual pizza shop. Booths if you want to eat in . Or take out / delivery available too.

Maria’s Pizzeria - Ocean Isle

Pizza, pasta. Near the roundabout so you don’t have to cross the bridge. Take out / dine in.

Ice Cream

Mootown (Sunset Beach)

Blue Bell Ice cream. Nice outdoor area. Very close - located near the Sunset Beach Park, next to Dave’s Outpost.

Two Ladies and a Scoop (Sunset Beach)

Great little ice cream shop just about 1 mi away.

Calabash Creamery (Calabash)

Great ice cream, great atmosphere. Eat inside or on the porch with plenty of rocking chairs.

Stay, Play and Relax with us…

Clubhouse Road meanders through Sea Trail Resort and it’s three golf courses. Such a quiet and scenic drive.
One of our favorite places to go is Drift Coffee over in Ocean Isle. Just a quick 10 min drive and you’re on the porch sipping a delicious cup of coffee. And they make a good breakfast too!
The Dan Maples Golf Course runs behind the Villa. Makes good watching for wildlife and golfers.
The Sunset Beach Park is on the edge of the ICW and is just a mile away. What a gem!
The Sea Trail Activity Center is just across the street from us. Outdoor pool and restaurant, but the Indoor and game room will keep us busy all year round even on those chilly days.
The Sunset Beach Villa! We love getting to the beach as much as we can, and when we can’t be there we love hosting others who can take advantage and enjoy it as well. So much to do (or not!) Come stay, play, and relax at The Sunset Beach Villa.
